Toluene

Toluene is a colorless, volatile liquid with a special aroma. There is strong refraction. It is miscible with ethanol, ether, acetone, chloroform, carbon disulfide and glacial acetic acid, and very slightly soluble in water. It is flammable, steam can form explosive mixture with air, and the explosion limit is 1.2%～7.0% (volume). Low toxicity, 50% lethal dose (rat, oral) 5000mg/kg. High-concentration gases are narcotic and irritating.
